PFAS — often referred to as persistent pollutants — are now at the heart of environmental concerns, health and safety, and regulatory requirements. At the Pollutec trade fair, held in Lyon from 7th to 10th October, ABO ERG Environnement invites professionals, local authorities, manufacturers and pollution control stakeholders to share the progress of its ambitious R&D project MATISSE, conducted in partnership with the LCE, the’IMBE and the’IECP.
Our team will welcome you Hall 4 – Aisle E 083, to discuss issues related to PFAS, our innovations and the operational solutions we are developing to better measure, understand and reduce their impact on ecosystems and human health.
PFAS: a major scientific, health and environmental issue
PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a large family of chemical compounds used in many industrial products. Their persistence in the environment, mobility and potential effects on human health make them a priority for laboratories, communities and businesses exposed to these pollutants.
The project MATISSE (Multi-scale pfAs conTaminatIon Study in induStrial arEas), led by ABO-ERG Environnement and its academic partners, aims to better understand:
- the toxicity of PFAS mixtures,
- their transfer pathways in anthropised areas,
- and multi-matrix contamination (air, water, soil, biota).
This approach “One Health” enables us to link environmental impacts, human health and ecosystem dynamics.
Three major interventions on the agenda
During Pollutec, ABO ERG Environnement will share the latest results of the MATISSE project at two conferences and in a scientific poster presentation:
Studies on the toxic effects of PFAS mixtures (One Health)
PFAS Symposium – Tuesday, 7 October between 1:45 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.
A presentation focusing on the assessment of toxicological risks in the anthropised area of Fos-Berre, a particularly sensitive territory.
PFAS contamination: One Health approach
Poster – PFAS Symposium – Tuesday, 7 October
A comprehensive overview of contamination dynamics in the industrial areas of Fos-Berre and Oullins-Pierre-Bénite.
Multi-matrix inventory and transfer routes
Contaminated Sites & Soils – Hall 4 – Tuesday, 7 October, from 1:10 p.m. to 1:55 p.m.
An intervention dedicated to gaining a detailed understanding of the interactions between environmental matrices and PFAS circulation.
Why come and meet us?
- Discover our latest innovations in environmental R&D.
- Discuss PFAS management and remediation strategies with our experts.
- Benefit from cutting-edge expertise in sensitive industrial areas.
- Establish scientific and operational collaborations.
See you at Pollutec!
ABO-ERG Environnement looks forward to welcoming you to its stand to discuss the MATISSE project, PFAS and innovations dedicated to protecting soil, water and ecosystems.
